Whether you’re a developer, a founder, an executive, a student, a scientist, a politician, an artist, an investor, a nerd or an optimist: 1E9 the_conference is made for you, because we had all of you on our mind when we started this project. Not convinced yet? Then check out these 11 reasons why you should get your ticket now and join us and 1000+ participants on July 11th 2019 in Munich.
1. Take part in a mission!
Of course, 1E9 the_conference is about knowledge, networking, and business – but for a higher reason. Our goal is to find answers for one of the most important questions of our lifetime: How can we empower humanity through technology? The keynotes, discussions, workshops and art at the event will all contribute to finding solutions and connecting people who want to shape the future together.
These are the leading questions of our six conference tracks: How can we make AI and robots work for us? How can we create a clean, smart and connected mobility? How could a decentralized future improve our life? How should the internet of the future look like? How can technology boost sustainability? And how can we extend the spheres of humanity in space and on earth?
2. Inspiration from real experts!
Our speakers are hand-picked and combine the best from start-ups, corporations, society and science. They have one thing in common: They really get things done! You need some examples? Sure.
Daniel Krauss (FlixMobility), Daniel Cremers (Artisense) and Martin Fröhlich (Deutsche Bahn) will discuss where we stand on our way to clean, automated and connected mobility. Crypto economist Shermin Voshmgir (TU Vienna), Sebnem Rusitschka (Freeelio, The Sun Protocol) and Christoph Jentzsch (Ethereum, Slock.it) believe in the power of blockchain and will present a vision of tokenization and decentralisation making the world more social, transparent and sustainable.
How AI-driven design and 3D printers can lead to a more sustainable manufacturing will be the focus of Lin Kayser (Hyperganic). Joscha Bach (AI Foundation) is convinced that Artificial Intelligence can help us better understand the human motivation and cognition.
Former SpaceX-VP Bulent Altan will share how Mynaric wants to connect the whole world to the internet via satellite laser communication. Ben Livshits, the Chief Scientist at Brave Software, shows new ways of how we can regain sovereignty over our data on the web.
Simon Haddadin’s collaborative robots from Franka Emika prove that the future of human-machine interaction doesn’t have to be terrifying. Daniel Metzler (Isar Aerospace) and Robert Boehme (PTScientists) introduce the next steps of the expansion into space. And Alexandra Bause will lead the discussion about biotech that could stop the ageing process of our body.

We partner with the best! Among them we have Shermin Voshmgir and the Cryptoeconomics team from the Technical University Vienna, NVIDIA, Oracle, Burda’s tech gurus, BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt and many more to come.
For corporates and start-ups we have a full-day structured content and sessions dedicated to learning from best-practices in startup-corporates collaboration. Please note: The number of participants per workshop is limited. When allocating places, preference will be given to those who bought their tickets early. Some workshops already take place on 10 July 2019.
4. Stunning art gives you new perspectives!
Motifs for Marc Gumpingers oil on canvas paintings, that will be shown at 1E9 the_conference, are created by algorithms. He will also give a live animation art performance. Biopolitical artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg will present her latest work the lovesick virus, created to spread love and empathy.
Former robo-dancer Christian “Mio” Loclair from studio Waltz Binaire will show a new piece of AI art that blurs the boundaries between human and machine creativity. And Ronit Wolf, the princess of the western spiral arm of the milkyway (who’s also organizing the Munich Science & Fiction Festival), will surprise the audience with an interactive performance the world has never seen before.
5. Join a real community!
1E9 the_conference is not a singular event. It’s the birthplace of a community that will endure after July 11th. When you’re reading this, you already found the way to our platform. This will be the new home for tech-affine optimists that want to shape the future together.
Here, you can network, discuss, and collaborate with likeminded people from a variety of backgrounds. You get information and inspiration through our public digital magazine as well as member exclusive content, and you can collaborate with our editorial team to create stories with an impact. Of course, you can publish your own stories as well.
We’re still in our testing phase, and you need an invitation to sign up. But guess what? If you get your conference ticket now, you’ll receive a free 1E9 membership till the end of the year and you can sign up right now.
6. Meet your next friend, partner in crime, employer, employee or customer!
At 1E9 the_conference you’ll get the chance to enlarge your network! You’ll get plenty of opportunities to meet new and interesting people at our workshops, but also at designated areas and time slots where we’ll connect you! As the conference is not over when it’s over, you’ll have the chance to stay in touch and collaborate through our digital platform.
7. Your voice is heard!
We want to unite a diversity of voices, opinions and knowledge. That’s why members can get involved anywhere on our digital platform, and why all formats at our conference are designed in such a way that the audience can really participate. After every keynote, there will be an opportunity for discussion. The townhall stage is created for interaction and controversial discussions will take place in our Oxford Arena.
8. Students get a real discount!
We’ll talk a lot about the future at 1E9. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the Fridays for Future movement, it’s that: Young people are particularly concerned about the future! That’s why we think, their points of views are crucial for our project. Therefore, tickets for students cost only 49 Euro, while regular tickets cost 159 Euro until June 11th and 199 Euro after that.
9. Visit Munich in the summer!
Munich is Germany’s deep tech hub. And 1E9 the_conference takes place right in the heart of Munich: at the iconic Deutsches Museum, the world’s largest technology museum, at Isarforum, a historic landmark turned into a state-of-the-art convention space, and at Blitz, Munich’s finest techno and electronic music club. All locations are within walking distance located directly at the river Isar. And there is a beer garden to hang out in the sun and enjoy some Bavarian beer.
10. Your gateway to the future!
Tech can be confusing. There’s so much going on in artificial intelligence, biotech, decentralization and other fields that it’s sometimes hard to keep up. Well, don’t worry! At 1E9 the_conference you’ll not only learn about the latest state of technology, but also where it could take us in the coming years and decades. By joining our community, you’ll receive latest information through our newsletters, our digital magazine, and from fellow 1E9 members.
11. We have great partners!
We, the team of a startup called 1E9 Denkfabrik (1E9 think thank), don’t create 1E9 the_conference all by ourselves. We have a great network of partners including Deutsches Museum, BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, Hubert Burda Media, ThoughtWorks, The HUS institute, 27pilots, startup communication, Vito Ventures and Vito One. You want to become a partner, too? No problem.
