Als Filmproduzentin hat Astrid Kahmke u.a. internationale Spielfilme realisiert, und gewann zahlreiche Preise. 2012 bis 2019 war sie dann für das Bayerische Filmzentrum tätig, wo sie zunächst das renommierte First Movie Program leitete und innovative Trainingsformate entwickelte. Ab 2016 kuratierte sie die internationalen „i4c events“ in München und leitet seit 2017 das erste europäische Lab für künstlerische VR-Entwickler.
Mit ihrer Expertise ist sie international gefragt als Keynote-Speaker und war Gastdozentin an der Universität Fresenius und der Ludwigs-Maximilian-Universität München sowie der Hochschule Darmstadt. Sie ist im wissenschaftlichen Beirat der Akademie für Theater und Digitalität in Dortmund.
2020 wechselte sie zur Medien.Bayern GmbH als Direktorin des Internationalen Virtual Worlds Festivals.
As a film producer, Astrid Kahmke has realised international feature films and won numerous awards. From 2012 to 2019 she worked for the Bavarian Film Center, where she initially headed the renowned First Movie Program and developed innovative training formats. From 2016 she curated the international „i4c events“ in Munich and since 2017 she has headed the first European lab for artistic VR developers.
With her expertise, she is internationally in demand as a keynote speaker and was a guest lecturer at the University Fresenius and the Ludwig-Maximilian-University Munich as well as the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt. She is member of the scientific advisory board of the Academy for Theater and Digitality in Dortmund.
In 2020, she moved to Medien.Bayern GmbH as director of the International Virtual Worlds Festival.
