Convinced that reaching our climate targets requires a fundamentally different way of using resources, Dr. Susanne Kadner initiated the Circular Economy Initiative Germany at acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering. She leads the Head Office of the state and industry funded initiative, which aims at defining the transition towards a resource-efficient and digitally enabled Circular Economy with stakeholders from Politics, Science, Industry and Civil Society. In addition, Susanne is Co-Lead for Energy, Resources and Sustainability at acatech. Before that, Susanne worked for 10 years at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, where she was Head of Science and Deputy Head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).Before starting her career on the science-policy interface, Susanne studied Oceanography at the University of Southampton and received her PhD in Analytical Chemistry and Marine Microbiology from the University of East Anglia.
