Christos
I never left my beta state. During my studies and work across management, design and architecture I always thought I need to become complete, I thought things would be finished, but they were not. And I realized, that being in permanent beta is in fact a relief. It is a relief in two ways.
It will relieve us from the predominant thinking of optimization, acceleration and control. It will “relieve” the buildings we work in, the areas and spaces - where we produce, create, invent and innovate - from being perfect, and control.
Now we have the technologies and tools to create adaptive spaces and to re-define the whole purpose of work, production and consumption. We will re-direct our thinking and time to meet challenges in the world and add a social agenda, while machines will do some repetitive work. Innovation will become the current mode, learning will be an essential part of our daily “working” life. And one elementary part of the past century will disappear: the idea of becoming better. This process has no end.
Welcome to the intuitive state of awareness, welcome to permanent beta. All places are temporary places. We won’t paint or move walls tomorrow. We will do it now.
