Adnan Oner

Adnan Oner (1988) is a Dutch physicist with a Master's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics. After founding several startups, he decided that his next startup should have as much impact as possible. He started looking for overlooked solutions to climate change, reading hundreds of papers and talked to dozens of experts. This five year journey led him to a neglected startup idea: fermentation without agricultural land.
In 2022, Adnan founded Farmless. By using a renewable, agriculture independent feedstock, Farmless produces food up to 5000 times more efficiently than animal farming. Considering that animal agriculture occupies up to 80% of all agricultural land, agriculture independent fermentation has the potential to significantly reduce the footprint of protein production. Adnan's vision with Farmless is to enable large-scale reforestation, reverse biodiversity loss, and draw down gigatons of carbon.
